On this page we have collated resources to promote CR utilization by patients. http://sgrace.info.yorku.ca/tools-to-promote-cardiac-rehabilitation-utilization/

ICCPR, with the Canadian Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, have convened a multidisciplinary, global panel of experts to develop a policy statement on promoting CR use in patients (enrolment, adherence and completion). It is based on the Cochrane review on interventions to increase use, which we recently updated (Link). The statement, developed according to AGREE II and IOM trustworthiness standards, forwards 3 evidence-based recommendations for practice. We have also developed an accompanying online course (http://learnonthego.ca/Courses/promoting_patient_participation_in_CR/story.html), training inpatient cardiac healthcare providers on how to encourage their patients to utilize CR at the bedside. We have evaluated it, and results are forthcoming.
This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society.
